Jamael Westman is in psychological thriller ‘Hedda’ on Prime Video

A provocative reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play, ‘Hedda’ follows enigmatic newlywed Hedda, a woman who is deeply unsatisfied with her day-to-day life.

Her world may seem picture-perfect on a purely superficial level, since she and her husband throw extravagant parties topped off with crystal chandeliers, ballgowns, and late-night firework shows. The champagne is endless, and the music is full of life.

But despite all the luxury surrounding Hedda, she can’t help but feel empty inside. That is, until her secret lover shows up and turns everything upside down. Yet whether it’s for better or worse has yet to be determined…

What ensues is a ruthless game of manipulation, where lust, jealousy, and betrayal collide. Written and directed by Nia DaCosta, it is a daring exploration of power, desire, and a woman’s refusal to be confined.
