Seema Bowri is a London based, Brit-Indian actress.

Born and bred in the Midlands (Nottingham), of Hindu-Punjabi heritage, Seema is an actress of great versatility with numerous credits across stage, screen and voice-over.

Best known for playing series regular, PC Leela Kapoor in ITV’s ‘The Bill’, she has recently played the supporting lead in the award winning comedy feature film , ‘Little
English’ (writer/director Pravesh Kumar).

Her theatre credits include; ‘Dishoom!’ (Rifco Arts), ‘Night At The Bombay Roxy’ (Swamp Theatre), ‘My Country’ (National Theatre), ‘Lisa's Sex Strike’ (Northern Broadsides), ‘Calcutta Kosher’ (Kali Theatre), children’s shows ‘The Big Magic’ and ‘Monkey In The Stars’ (Polka Theatre) and touring comedy shows ‘Don't Look At My Sister!’, ‘Arrange That Marriage!’ and ‘Bollywood Or Bust….Innit!' (One Nation Under a Groove & Edinburgh Festival).

After starting as a radio soap regular, playing Ravinder in ‘Westway’ (BBC World Service), her radio drama credits include ‘From Bangalore With Love’, ‘Tails You Lose’ and ‘Cooking by Heart’ (BBC Radio 4).

Seema has also voiced a number of characters in CH5’s ‘Angels of Jarm’.

Over the years, her voice work includes commercials for the Department for Trade & Industry, the Home Office, the Metropolitan Police and the British Army, promos for
Cbeebies and BBC Worldwide and she's made educational recordings for Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press.

Seema can currently be seen starring in British Asian film 'Little English' in UK Cinemas.
