She is a trilingual, first generation British actor, writer and filmmaker, born and bred in London to Italian and Spanish parents.
She started out in comedy working alongside people like Lee Evans, Steve Coogan, Chris Morris and Terry Gilliam, before moving into drama.
She is primarily known for playing WPC Sharon 'Shaz' Granger in the BBC Drama series 'Ashes to Ashes' as well as roles in 'Upstart Crow', 'Inside No 9' and the BAFTA nominated ‘Soon Gone : A Windrush Chronicle’. She has just wrapped on CBS’s 'Tinkertown' which is the reimagining of ‘The Man Who Fell To Earth’.
Montserrat's latest short film ‘White’ which she co-directed and co-wrote, just premiered at LA International Shorts Film Festival. Her next project is currently being developed by the BFI.
