Ann Akinjirin is a London born and based actor of West African heritage.
She trained at Sylvia Young, BRIT school, University of Bedfordshire, and Drama Studio London.
She landed her first television role in 'EastEnders' whilst still studying at University. Other credits include her returning role of DS Ekwensi in 'Strike Series' (BBC/HBO), 'Trigonometry' (BBC/HBO) 'Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams' (Channel 4/Sony), 'Brave New World' (NBC Universal), 'The Unforgotten' (ITV) and 'The Javone Prince Show' (BBC 2).
Ann starred in Marvel Studios original series 'Moon Knight' opposite Ethan Hawke and Oscar Isaac (Marvel/Disney+), Michaela Coel’s 'I May Destroy You', the second season of Norwegian sci-fi 'Beforeigners' (HBO) and most recently as Aunt Fanny in 'The Famous Five' (BBC).
She will soon be seen opposite Russell Tovey in new BBC series 'The War Between the land and the Sea', as well as the latest installment in the 'Famous Five' series.
Ann can also be seen starring in Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor's directorial debut feature 'Dreamers' which was longlisted at the 2025 British Independent Film Awards for the Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director and Best Debut Screenwriter.
