He was the Screen International Star of Tomorrow 2018.
Jamael trained at RADA, graduating in 2016 and was immediately cast in 'Torn' at the Royal Court. Within 6 months, Jamael was cast as the title role in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ground-breaking show 'Hamilton' and subsequently nominated for Best Actor at the Olivier Awards. He also starred opposite Tom Hollander in 'Patriot's at the Almeida.
His TV credits include 'The Essex Serpent' (Apple TV+), 'Anne Boleyn' (C5), 'Get Millie Black' (C4/HBO).
Jamael recently wrapped on 'Hedda', a film written and directed by Nia DaCosta, and can currently be seen on stage at the National Theatre in 'London Tide'.
